The South Orange County Progressives will meet on Tuesday, April 11 in the Banquet Room of Agostinos by the Sea in Capo Beach.  Dinner and Social Hour at 5:30 followed by the meeting at 7. Coastal Commission vs Citizens Oversight.  This important case has been postponed, partly because Edison now says it will negotiate where to temporarily store nuclear waste.  Instead there will be a rally at the San Diego Superior Court at 1 PM on Friday, April 14, Hall of Justice, 330 Broadway, San Diego 92101. The California Coastal Commission, charged with protecting the ocean and its beaches, has made the unbelievable decision to allow a nuclear waste dump to be built 100 feet from the shore in San Onofre.  Citizens Oversight is suing the CC to reverse this decision.  Come and attend this rally!  There will be 75 surfers in Haz Mat suits.

The South Orange County Democratic Club will hold a general meeting on Wed., April 19, 6 PM at the San Juan Community Center, 25925 Camino Del Avion, SJC.  The speaker will be Mike Levin who is running against Issa (along with Doug Applegate) for CA 49.  Levin is a Stanford graduate, alum of Duke Law School, and board member of the Center for Sustainable Energy.  Dinner will be $20 for members, $25 for others, or $5 for the meeting only. People’s Climate March on Sat., April 29, 2-4 PM, Irvine United Congregational Church, 4915 Alton Parkway, Irvine, CA 92604.  The main event is a march up Alton to Culver,  In the morning there will be speakers and a panel discussion 9-12 and a cooking demo and book signing 12-2.

The Laguna Beach Democratic Club will be part of a nationwide Tax March on Saturday, April 15 (IRS deadline).  Urge Trump to make his tax returns public – what is he hiding?  Wear green, assemble at the main beach at noon and bring some cool signs.
