The Progressives of South Orange County April meeting will be run by high school students speaking out on issues of concern to young people. Perhaps you attended on of the many big rallies on March 24 or saw the day long coverage of March for Our Lives in Washington DC which according to USA Today drew a million students and supporters. Their message Enough! resonated locally and throughout the world. Locally, a large group of high school students gathered on the lawn of the San Clemente library to protest gun violence. (Pictures of the event can be found on the SOCP website photo gallery page: https://socprogressives.com/photo-gallery/). We are pleased to have Jackson Hinkle, one of the leaders of this event, who will speak about environmental activism. Sutton Loughran will discuss gun reform, Landon Russell from the SCHS Young Progressives will discuss registering young people to vote and using social media for change.
