Residents Organized for a Safe Environment (ROSE) will sponsor a community involvement meeting on Saturday, Feb. 3: “The Facts about Nuclear Waste Storage at San Onofre.”  The meeting will take place just as Edison has completed moving the first of 73 thin-walled canisters to the new nuclear waste dump at San Onofre where they will remain indefinitely.  These canisters are often called “Chernobyl Cans” because each one has more radiation potential than everything released in the Chernobyl disaster.  1-3 PM, Center for Spiritual Living, 1201 Puerta del Sol, San Clemente 92673. The Canyon Democrats will sponsor a “Flip the House” Pancake Breakfast on Sat., Feb. 3, 9-10 AM at the Norman Murray Center in Mission Viejo.  And on Tuesday, Feb. 27 they will hold their monthly meeting also at the Norman Murray Center.  Socializing from 6:30-7 followed by the meeting 7-9.  All welcome.
