The Progressives of South Orange County will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 8 in the Banquet Room of Agostinos by the Sea Ristorante Italiano, 34700 Coast Highway, Capo Beach 92624.  The featured speaker Dr. Shahir Masri, author of Beyond Debate: Answers to 50 Misconceptions on Climate Change.  He will be speaking about the impact of climate change and climate action strategies.  You can purchase signed copies of his book at the meeting.  Also joining us will be educator Athina Simolaris, activist for sustainability and environmental awareness.  Socializing and dinner off the restaurant menu 5:30 followed by the meeting at 7.  RSVP necessary:

The Democratic Women of South Orange County will hold a general meeting on Monday, Jan. 7 at the San Juan Hills Golf Club, 32120 San Juan Creek Road, San Juan Capistrano, 5:30-8:30.  The DWSOC will be electing officers and planning for action for the year to come.

The Women’s March in Santa Ana will take place on Saturday, Jan 19.  The Aliso Niguel Democratic Club is organizing a bus which will leave at Lowe’s in Aliso Viejo Town Center at 7:30 AM returning at 1 PM.  Tickets are $25 plus an additional $10 for an optional bagged breakfast.  The ANDC meets the third Monday of each month at 7 PM (Meet and Greet at 6:30) at the Faith Episcopal Church, 27802 El Lazo, Laguna Niguel 92677,  The DWSOC is also joining in this Women’s March.

The Citizens’ Climate Lobby will hold its Northern California Conference on Jan. 26-27 in Atherton, CA.  The Citizens’ Climate Southern California regional Conference will be held Saturday and Sunday February 23-24, 2019 at the Cal State Los Angeles Campus, Los Angeles. Early bird registration is available ($110). Students $25. One of the speakers will be actor, director and activist Mike Farrell   https://2019cclsocal.  Locally, the CCL meets on Saturdays at 9:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall of St. Andrews by the Sea Methodist Church, 2001 Calle Frontera, San Clemente.
